A Review Of Android's Dodgeball App

By Andrea Rivas

Currently, smart phones are important gaming platforms that are bringing in a new generation of gamers who never played before. They're demanding high quality particularly for paid downloads. The Android's Dodgeball app is a high quality action game.

Gaming is often more addictive when the concept is simple. A concept that's strong and is not complex are key elements involved in making a game that players find impossible to put down. This game fulfills those criteria.

It has a pacman like style, in absence of a maize. It has a more linear style than the game classic. A ball is manipulated by tapping the screen, and score is gained by remaining alive and collecting items. There are also some items that need to be jumped over. There are two modes.

Endless and arcade modes are provided. Arcade mode is less challenging because players who die can return to a recently saved point. Those playing endless mode have to return right back to the beginning when they die, and there are a full 48 levels. It's thus extremely difficult to get through all levels alive.

The main complaints from users are that it takes a long time to receive final scores and the pause button is placed in an area that's easy to push accidentally during game play. Other than that, there are few negative aspects mentioned in reviews. An overwhelming percentage of players give it five stars.

Different levels don't vary in appearance. A game that provides variation is far more exciting and gives a sense of achievement to players. The music also remains the same through all levels.

There's a good build in difficulty between levels and not all high levels are more difficult than their predecessors. This is great because games that become progressively more difficult tend to become annoying and too hard. In the near future the dodgeball app will be available on other platforms.
