By Carol G Garcia

American's love their cars, and they fancy their films too. There have been some timeless cars in films in the past and while we can only list a few and your beloved may not be listed, here are a few remarkable "car" films.

From 1968-Bullitt. Starring Steve McQueen and Jacqueline Bisset. Director: Peter Yates. A law enforcement/action crime story featuring one of the greatest car chases in cinematic history and a 390 GT Mustang and a Dodge Charger 440 Magnum.

The real thing and some say the finest one, from 1974 - Gone in 60 Seconds. Featuring "Eleanor" a yellow 1973 Ford Mustang and a different one of the best car chases in a 40-minute culmination to the film. Crash course on the fundamentals of thieving cars. But don't overlook the remake.

From the millennial year of 2000- Gone in 60 Seconds. Featuring an famous cast and crew including Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. But this movie is not about the genius of the stars but only about the flash of the cars. Fast cars, stolen cars, wrecked cars. Only about the cars.

From 1981 and 1984 successively. The Cannonball Run and The Cannonball Run 2. Unlawful street racing across countryside, featuring an peculiar group of actors of outrageous characters who will do anything to win.

From 1983 - Christine- An implementation in horror starring a cool but possessed 1957 Plymouth Fury. The story is from Stephen King, can't go amiss there.

Everyone's all-time beloved from 1973 - American Graffiti. Featuring an all-star cast before they became stars. Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Harrison Ford, Cindy Williams and Mackenzie Phillips. A bona fide and favored classic about summer 1962.

And there you have a very concise list of some very notable films featuring some very cool cars. We fancy our cars.
