Ending Your Cell Phone Batterys Life

By Bobbie Sue

Ever wonder what types of things kill a cell phone battery dead as a doornail? It would be really easy if there was just one universal answer, but it is far more complex than that. The truth of the matter is that there are many different things that can kill your cell phone batteries, and most of the time is is always caused by the cell phone user. We all know cell phones are worthless when the battery is dead, so lets find out what cellular phone batteries hate.

Most of todays cell phones use Lithium Ion batteries. These phone batteries are awesome because they are light in weight and hold their charge better than the batteries of the past. Lithium Ion batteries, although long lasting, have some evil arch enemies like supermans kryptonite and Lex Luthor.

The main enemy is other metals and what they do to cell phone batteries. Other metals, when in contact with the Lithium Ion battery receptors can disturb and completely ruin the ions within the battery and make the battery defective. Most of the reconditioned or refurbished batteries are often the product of the battery touching other metals. Even though refurbished batteries are cheaper, they are generally garbage.

The next enemy is water. Although you and I need water to sustain our lives, water will indefinitely end the life of a cellular phone battery. Water confuses the Ions and creates a battery that is defective and can't hold a charge, even if the rest of the phone looks fine. Dropping your phone is very common, and most of us drop our phone at least once a week.

Extreme temperature conditions are also bad for your battery. We had a client that worked in a freezer for a company and he would tell us that he had to replace his cell phone battery every 3 months. Batteries naturally need a constant climate as much as possible to operate and function to their full potential.

Now that you know what to look for you will be better prepared to save your phone and extend it's life.
