Stars Spencer Tracy, Jean Simmons, Teresa Wright, Anthony Perkins, and Mary Wickes. (1953 Biography directed by George Cukor)

Plenty: Reproduction on screen of David Hare's play regarding a British female who (like Britain itself) experiences her finest hours throughout WW2, performing for the underground, and on no account finds contentment or delight the remainder of her life. Excellent acting, and minutes of insight and humor could't conquer the boring personality of Streep's character. Schepisi makes phenomenal use of widescreen. Cast includes Meryl Streep, Charles Dance, Tracey Ullman, John Gielgud, Sting, Ian McKellen, Sam Neill, and Burt Kwouk. (124 minutes, 1985)

300: 300 tells the epic tale of the Battle of Thempylae. The Persians have come by the thousands to take over Greece. When asked to simply give up, and receive power and riches, the Spartan leader refuses the offer. Instead, he and 300 of his best men stood against the whole of Xerxes army, and kill thousands before finally being overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of the attackers.

Delta Farce: 3 stupid army reservists, informed they are being sent to Iraq, are as an alternative dropped into the Mexican desert, where Larry and his friends Everett and Bill evidently Moe and Curly were unavailable go into motion contrary to corrupt police that they blunder for Middle Eastern terrorists. Give this mind-numbingly dumb trip points for creativity: it's possibly the first and with any luck last lame-brained comedy to try milking snickers from replicated references to Shiites and Kurds! Cast includes Larry the Cable Man, Bill Engvall, DJ Qualls, Keith David, Danny Trejo, Marisol Nichols, and Glenn Morshower. (90 minutes, 2007)

Jupiter's Thigh: Blah continuation to Beloved Investigator, with sleuth Girardot and professor Noiret becoming engaged in fascinate when honeymooning in Greece. Cast includes Annie Girardot, Philippe Noiret, Frances Perrin, and Catherine Alric. (90 minutes, 1979)

Here's a Lame comedy with an older, exhausted cast; Remorseful to affirm, Rathbone's last film. Cast includes Ferlin Husky, Joi Lansing, Don Bowman, John Carradine, Merle Haggard, and Sonny James. He is also ready to fight back.

The Guys: A fire branch commander who lost 8 gentlemen in the nine/eleven Planet Trade Hub catastrophe gets help from a virtuoso author as he disposes to transfer eulogies for the departed. Based on Anne Nelson's play, this looks surprisingly well as a film, as a result of restrained feelings, truthful performances by the 2 megastars, and the nobility it finds in the lives of normal hardworking individuals. Controller Simpson co-scripted with Nelson; Weaver is his spouse. Cast includes Sigourney Weaver, and Anthony LaPaglia. (88 minutes, 2003)
