CompTIA Training Courses Revealed

By Jason Kendall

Training for your CompTIA A+ covers 4 different sectors - you need to pass exams in 2 different areas to be A+ competent. Because of this, many training establishments simply provide 2 of the 4 sectors. We consider that this isn't enough - yes you'll have qualified, but knowledge of every section will prepare you more fully for when you're in your working life, where you'll need to know about all of them. So that's why you deserve training in all four areas.

CompTIA A+ without additional courses will allow you to fix and maintain stand alone Macs, computers and laptops; ones that are generally not connected to a network - essentially the domestic or small business sector.

You might also choose to think about supplementing the A+ with Network + as it will enable you to take care of computer networks, and have a more responsible working role.

Technology and IT is one of the most electrifying and revolutionary industries that you can get into right now. To be working on the cutting-edge of technology means you're a part of the huge progress affecting everyone who lives in the 21st century.

Technological changes and connections on the internet is going to noticeably affect our lives over the coming years; profoundly so.

The regular IT technician in the UK can demonstrate that they get noticeably more than equivalent professionals in much of the rest of the economy. Average salaries are around the top of national league tables.

Demand for professionally qualified and skilled IT workers is guaranteed for the significant future, due to the constant development in the marketplace and the vast skills gap still present.

It's usual for students to get confused with a single training area usually not even thought about: The breakdown of the course materials before being physically delivered to you.

You may think it logical (with most training taking 1-3 years for a full commercial certification,) for your typical trainer to courier a single section at a time, as you achieve each exam pass. Although:

What if you don't finish every exam? And what if you find the order of the modules counter-intuitive? Without any fault on your part, you might take a little longer and not receive all the modules you've paid for.

The ideal solution is to have all your study materials delivered to you immediately; the complete package! Then, nothing can hinder the reaching of your goals.

The right sort of training program will also offer accredited exam simulation and preparation packages.

Some students can be thrown off course by practicing questions for their exams that aren't recognised by official boards. Quite often, the terminology in the real exams is unfamiliar and you need to be ready for this.

Why don't you test your depth of understanding by doing quizzes and practice exams prior to taking the actual exam.

Adding in the cost of exams upfront then including an exam guarantee is a common method with a number of training colleges. Consider the facts:

It's very clear we're still footing the bill for it - it's quite obvious to see that it's been added into the gross price invoiced by the college. Certainly, it's not a freebie - don't think these companies are so generous with their money!

Should you seriously need to qualify first 'go', then the most successful route is to fund each exam as you take it, give it the priority it deserves and apply yourself as required.

Take your exams as locally as possible and find the best exam deal or offer available then.

Big margins are secured by many training colleges who take the exam money up-front. For various reasons, many students don't take their exams but no refunds are given. Astoundingly enough, there are companies around who actually bank on it - and that's how they increase their profits.

Also, 'Exam Guarantees' often aren't worth the paper they're written on. Many training companies will not pay again for an exam until you have demonstrated conclusively that you won't fail again.

Spending hundreds or even thousands extra on 'Exam Guarantees' is short-sighted - when hard work, commitment and the right preparation via exam simulations is what will really see you through.
