As with any smaller printer, installing and troubleshooting just come with the territory. But the Dell S2500 printer using S2500 Toner Cartridge is actually one of the easier laser printers to deal with when you need to do some troubleshooting or install special items. Here are some great installation and troubleshooting tips that can help you out of any paper jam.
Optional Drawer Installation: There are two other drawers that you can purchase and install for your Dell S2500 printer. One is an extra 250-page drawer and the other is a larger 500-page drawer. To install these, you need to do a few things first. Make sure that you have disconnected the printer from the network and other computers, then turn off the power, once the power is off you want to unplug it from the source. Now, you simply follow the instructions for the drawer and you are ready to go.
Memory Card Installation: If you need to install a memory card for your Dell S2500 printer, simply purchase the right one and you can easily install it on your own. When you are buying your card, you want to make sure that it has 100-pin connectors and that it is a printer card or a flash card. You want to make sure that you don't have any static electricity built up as it can wipe out these cards, so touch something metal before you touch the card itself. Then, take the card out, open the top of the printer by using the latches on each side, and then push the memory card into place until you feel it "snap". Now, close the top cover and you're finished.
Raise the Paper Rest: This is probably the easiest thing to do on the Dell printer. Simply pull the paper rest out and forward to the height that you want and you are done. You can adjust the paper rest height so that papers don't fall to the floor if multiple jobs are completed at once and the papers stack up too high.
Operator Panel Overlay: This is basically the guide around the buttons on the front of the printer. This is in English, and those that prefer it in another language can easily change this to fit their needs. There are several different overlays that you can change out really easily. Simply choose the right overlay you need, peel the backing off, and place it in line with the holes for the buttons on the panel. Press into place and you are done.
Side Cover Removal: Of course, sometime you'll need to take off the side cover on the S2500 printer. You would have to do this to clear a paper jam, replace a Dell S2500 Printer Toner Cartridge, clean it, or other reason. To do this, you just open the upper panel, then open the multipurpose door. When you have these open, you can then slide off the back cover. Once you have this off, you can then install memory cards, cartridges, clear jams, and much more.
Removing the Shield: On the side cover of the printer, you will find the shield. You open up the side cover, and unscrew the six screws that are underneath. Do not remove these, simply unscrew them until the shield slides easily. Then, slide it to the left until you feel it stop. You can then just pull it straight out.
Now that you know these easy to do, normal installation areas that you will come up against with a Dell S2500 printer, you can see that this is an easy printer to own and use. When compared to other larger printers, S2500 printer is extremely user friendly when it comes to any type of installation or paper jam.
