Look At These Critical Film Commentary

By Granville Doyle

Maybe you'll find that you are more fascinated in a website where you pay for individual films or songs. Because they are paid there is a lower risk of picking up a virus though no site is utterly free of this risk. If you are a person who likes online shopping the sites can be wonderful methods for finding movies and music. This is because you can download complete albums or select only the songs you like best or you can download the latest movie. Are you someone who likes the proposal but is anxious about giving out credit card information online? Although these sites are very safe, you can always opt to pay using a prepaid card.

Clue - Silly and insipid whodunit based on the fashionable board game of the same name with all the identifiable characters Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Miss Red, et al. assembled for a murderous day in a Victorian mansion. Everyone tries enormously hard but there is nothing they can do to save this weak film. Cast includes Eileen Brennan, Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, Christopher Lloyd, Michael McKean, Martin Ponder, and Howard Hesseman. (87 minutes,'85)

Sugar Town - Compelling variety of LA life characterizing a handful of characters whose lives fit together - a musician would-be who'll do anything to get ahead, an uptight lone woman who allures the unsuitable men like a magnet, and a band made up of cleaned-up '80s rock megastars, to name a few. Made on a shoestring, although sharp and well recognized; excellent cast contains a number of real life musicians. Cast includes Ally Sheedy, Rosanna Arquette, John Taylor, Jade Gordon, Michael Des Barres, Lucinda Jenney, and Martin Kemp. (92 minutes,'99)

Number One with a Bullet - Carradine and Williams do well in this fairly standard action motion picture where we have aggressive investigators out to dethrone a drug kingpin. Cast includes Robert Carradine, Billy Dee Williams, Valerie Bertinelli, Peter Graves, Doris Roberts, and Bobby DiCicco. (101 minutes,'87)

Inferno - American returns to N.Y. from school in Rome to investigate the shocking death of his sibling, and finds "sinister moms" wreaking paranormal anarchy on both sides of Atlantic. Surreal, spellbinding shocker by Italian terror genius Argento doesn't make much sense, but it has a lot of style. Cast includes Leigh McCloskey, Irene Marvel, Sacha Pitoeff, Daria Nicolodi, Eleonora Giorgi, Veronica Lazar, and Alida Valli. (107 minutes,'84)

China Nine Liberty 37 - This is a mystifying Western in which railroad tycoons spare a gentleman from gallows in trade for killing another gunfighter. The gunfighter's girl falls for the murderer and helps do his wicked work. Title refers to the signpost giving distance to two nearby towns. Cast includes Warren Oates, Fabio Testi, Jenny Agutter, and Sam Peckinpah. (102 minutes,'78)

Seize the Day - Williams is momentous as Tommy Wilhelm, turning 40 and a disappointment by any standard, he is broke, damaged and despondent for love. Wiseman and Stiller offer fine assistance as his cold hearted dad and a con man he naively believes in. Lots of recognizable faces in tiny roles - Tony Roberts, Richard Shull, John Fiedler, Jo Van Fleet, William Hickey, Eileen Heckart, and numerous others. Cast includes Robin Williams, Joseph Wiseman, Jerry Stiller, and Glenne Headly. (93 minutes,'86)

Software, music and games are usually also presented on the best movie sites. These additional items should be included in the original membership fee. Downloading movies makes more sense than renting or buying movies and you can take benefit of this great technology today.
