X-Box360 vs. PS3

By Philip Woods

Nowadays it seems as though every second person is interested in buying a gaming console, so it's hardly surprising that so many people want to know which console is better. Is it the PlayStation3, or is it the X-Box360? To be honest, you can't really go according to face value only, but instead, you need to weigh up the various pros and cons such as how each console differs in terms of its features and qualities. For example, both these consoles make use of the very latest technology, and even the audio and graphics are extremely comparable on paper, but in reality, you'll probably find that the X-Box360 tends to be superior in terms of performance and reliability.

While some people will argue that it is possible to find games for the PlayStation3 which aren't available for the X-Box, the 360 does however have a far greater variety of games. Of course there are also several titles which are available for both platforms and what's more, they are almost identical in price. Avid fans of the PS3 will also argue that the PlayStation has BlueRay while the 360 doesn't, and that the PS3 is also better in terms of playing older games.

On the downside, even with Blue Ray, PlayStation has always encountered problems when it comes to playing movies, and as such, if you really must have a Blue Ray player, then you should simply go out and buy one. Of course this by no means suggests that the PlayStation 3 is an inferior gaming console, but instead, it just means that many people seem to have switched over to the X-Box360 simply because they don't require all the extra bells and whistles.

Those who are currently considering purchasing a new gaming console should ideally go online in order to find out more about the different product descriptions. Not only will this allow you to determine the various features which each console has, but you'll also be able to see if there are any new products about to be released for the different consoles. Let's face it; with newer designs coming out continuously, choosing a new gaming platform is not always an easy task anymore.

One good thing the keep in mind about buying a Playstation 3 is that it has a basic Lenux computer built in, and can easily access the internet through your television, and phone line. Spending money on a Playstation 3 is much cheaper than buying separate components. If you want a good gaming console, with plenty of games to keep you going, for a decent price, you may want to consider the X-Box360. It is a recommendation that you purchase the deluxe package, with the extra 60GB of hard drive, rather than the basic or even the Arcade edition.

Irrespective of which one you end up choosing, you shouldn't purchase either of them until you've compared prices as well as other things such as warranties and etc. You may also want to research shipping and handling fees although most outlets now have an online presence. Essentially, this means that if you find one online, you can simply have its shipped to the store which means you avoid having to pay any shipping charges. Of course, over and above being able to save on shipping, ordering your console this way also means that should it be defective, it will be easier for you to return it. Lastly, this will also allow you to go in and to discuss the problem directly with a representative, rather than trying to get hold of someone over the phone where in most cases you'll just be put on hold again and again and again.
